My little site http://blog.ch/ is chugging along nicely. There are more visitors almost every week, I'm getting nice feedback, people submit their blog feeds. All in all, I'm quite pleased with the site, considering that its first edition was built on one rainy, whimsical weekend.
And now, the fourth edition is already on its way. I did the database layout yesterday and entered a dozen sites for testing purposes today. Tomorrow I'll write the code that does the magic, tests the whole shebang the day after tomorrow, and perhaps, by the end of the week, Preview Edition IV will be online.
I might even drop the "Preview" bit and call it Edition I. If I like it enough.
Yeah, I know, awfully slow coding. But I've got shopping to do, dishes to wash, baby to cuddle, children to entertain... not to mention actual paying work to be done! I'm lucky that I can make some time for that blog.ch thing!
And that's fine. All the time that passes between editions gives me the opportunity to study the site and find out what I don't like about it.
In my job, projects should usually have been delivered yesterday. That's why I really appreciate the slow pace of this hobby site. It's like fishing, but with a bigger audience.
